MonoMyth History

MonoMyth gets it's name from a term popularized by Joseph Campbell. The monomyth refers to the archetypal story of the hero's journey. MonoMyth was chosen as the brand name because, not only did it relate to the goal of MonoMyth, wanting to share compelling narratives with the world, but it also aligned with philosophy of the founder as he pursued his own hero's journey.

Below is a timeline of the years that MonoMyth has existed. Just like any good story, there are highs and lows, but each one plays an important role in the tapestry of the companies history.

MonoMyth Timeline (2021-Present)

2021

Founded

First Paid Job

First Short Film

Founded in February 2021 by Zachary Ruple, Ty Allen, Jacob Stewart, and Joshua Pruett, MonoMyth began with nothing but a goal: Make enough money to cover expenses for next year. It succeeded in this by completing jobs for local businesses. A couple short films were even made during the year as well.

2022

Clientele Shift

Long-Term Projects

Structure Change

Entering into 2022, the team was working on the largest film project any of the group had ever done. They also shifted from focusing on commercial clients to personal clients, doing the first of many weddings that year. While the short film would get finished after almost a year of development, another massive documentary undertaking began.

2023

"Optimism is a strategy for making a better future. Because unless you believe that the future can be better, you are unlikely to step up and take responsibility for making it so.”
